The SA600 comes with 2 H13 HEPA filters, 2 Carbon (VOC) filters and 2 permanent pre-filters.
The change filter indicator is calibrated for Chinese air quality, which is much worse than air quality in the U.S. and Canada. Typically, filters for the SA600 model last 18-24 months in these regions. However, it's essential to clean the pre-filters regularly. You can use the light as a prompt to inspect your filters and clean the pre-filters accordingly. To reset the filter light, simply press it down for 4 seconds.
The arrows go in the direction of the airflow. The airflow comes in from the sides and goes out the top, so the arrows point towards the center of the unit. The filters should be placed in the following order from the inside of the unit out: HEPA filter, carbon filter, pre-filter, then outside case panel.
Yes, on the narrow side. As long as there is at least 6 inches of space surrounding the intake sides and space above the purifier for the clean air to disperse, you can place the air purifier on the floor, or on a table, or a shelf. It can even be hung on a wall from the handle on the narrow side.
